iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C leak again in massive photo gallery

 

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5S and brand new mid-range iPhone 5C have been leaking in bits and pieces for months now, but a new report provides a massive photo gallery full of casings, display assemblies and more than a dozen other parts. Sonny Dickson on Fridaypublished a huge photo gallery containing images of the iPhone 5S in black, white and even “champagne” gold, alongside Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5C shell in blue. The gallery, which contains nearly 70 photos, includes a comparison between the two devices and also reaffirms various details from several earlier reports.

The first set of images in Dickson’s gallery contains several high-quality images that seemingly show the iPhone 5S’s new display assembly, while the second set shows a comparison between a white iPhone 5S casing and a blue iPhone 5C shell. The black iPhone 5S and champagne gold version also make appearances in this photo set, as does the oblong cut-out that will containApple’s new dual-LED flash next to the camera lens.

Several photos of various iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C parts follow, some of which were already revealed in an exclusive BGR report back in May, including various internal components and a champagne-colored SIM tray. There are also photos of iPhone 5C housings and buttons in a variety of colors.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5S is expected to feature an upgraded camera, a fingerprint scanner and a new gold color option. The iPhone 5C will likely debut alongside the iPhone 5S with more modest specs and a plastic case available in five colors.

Both phones are expected to be announced on September 10th ahead of a release in the U.S. and other launch markets on September 20th.

iPhone 5s Body Rumor LiquidMetal case

 

Apple’s iPhone 5S is most certainly being mass manufactured at this exact second, which is normal lead time of two to three months before launch. What is interesting, however, is obviously what the iPhone 5S is going to feature. What’s going to be different this time? Just an upgraded processor and camera? Most likely. A fingerprint scanner and NFC? Probably. But one thing that could be the most important element of the phone, any phone, has just started to bubble up after being overlooked for years, and that is what material the case is going to be made out of. My prediction is that we are going to see a LiquidMetal case for the first time on an iPhone, and this is my reasoning behind it.

Years ago, Apple signed an exclusive licensing agreement with LiquidMetal to use its unique material that is two to three times harder than normal metals, yet can be injection molded into custom parts and shapes. It is very scratch resistant, and yet extremely light.

BGR exclusively revealed various components from the upcoming iPhone 5S in a report back in May, and besides the fact that it looks like Apple is going to offer a gold iPhone (something thatmyself and Anostyle made hot), there was something else I noticed about the SIM tray but couldn’t put my finger on. These trays were not cut out of aluminum… they looked injection molded. But out of what?

Well I finally figured out what they are — they are manufactured out of LiquidMetal and I remembered why I knew this in the back of my mind… because I have already owned several phones that were made out of LiquidMetal — Vertus.
